Su Xian, a nine-tailed fox, secretly infiltrated the event, excited to have found someone significant from her past in Pu Songling. She later approached him as he traveled to Jinan for another exam. Meanwhile, two demons, Xi Mei and Yu Qing, wreaked havoc, prompting the Lingyuan Sect to send disciples to hunt them down and distribute talismans that revealed hidden dangers.
